An alliance of business people from South Puerto Rico (an area also
known as Porta Caribe) has formally announced its intention to
assist foreign businesses and investors in developing projects related
to the Port of the Americas (Puerto de las Américas Rafael Cordero
Santiago).
New commercial and residential real estate development projects are
cropping up across Ponce's Historic District thanks in part to Puerto
Rico Law 212, an initiative to revitalize Puerto Rico’s urban centers
with generous tax credits to developers.
With more tourists than ever visiting Ponce, an important city located in Puerto Rico’s South Coast, known also as Porta Caribe, the city’s administration announced plans to strengthen its tourism offering with more hotel rooms, cruise ship visits and special travel packages, including hotel and restaurant deals.
Puerto Rico’s 22 national parks, including those on the south coast of Puerto Rico (also known as Porta Caribe), will soon see a massive investment in safety, renovation, and expansion improvements, according to the Puerto Rico National Parks Company. The announcement coincides with the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico’s recent efforts to promote eco-tourism in the region.
The Puerto Rico Tourism Company recently announced a new initiative to network with tourism-related businesses in Puerto Rico and to promote the new Tu Oportunidad de Negocio program (Your Business Opportunity). The program will include a series of business meetings among tourism industry members, where they can discuss issues relevant to the success of companies in cities like Ponce, as well as how to best promote specific tourism regions like South Puerto Rico, known also as Porta Caribe.
