Visitor Satisfaction a Priority for Puerto Rico Tourism |

Ensuring a great visit to Puerto Rico is at the root of a new initiative from The Tourism Company of Puerto Rico, a government agency that regulates and supervises Puerto Rico-based travel agencies, wholesalers and tour companies.
A 2003 law requires that all Puerto Rico-based travel agents and wholesalers be licensed. Additionally, the law requires that these companies list everything included in travel offers and include their license number in advertisements.
When dealing with local providers, tourists should ask for evidence of a tourism operator's license, as well as a thorough disclosure of what advertised packages include. Businesses not forthcoming with this information should be avoided, according The Tourism Company, which is spearheading the initiative to identify and close down the operations of unauthorized businesses.
